The Impact of Export Promotion Programs on Export Performance of Technical and Engineering Services Exporting Firms

The constant presence in international markets, especially in developing countries, is of vital importance given the role of exports in creating jobs and providing foreign currency for importers. Accuracy in making favorable decisions and appropriate supportive policies at different levels is essential given the complexity of growing competition; the purpose of these policies is to improve firms export performance or stimulate them to start export activities.
This study aims to analyze the influence of the export promotion programs on Iran technical and engineering services exporting firms performance. Thus, the model used to evaluate the effectiveness of export promotion programs on export performance and to collect data, a questionnaire was distributed among the exporting technical and engineering services firms, and then structural equation modeling was analyzed using the statistical technique. The results show that export promotion programs have no direct impact on export performance, but indirectly have a positive and significant impact through influence on export-related capabilities and impact on export marketing strategy. The results offer proposals to increase the effectiveness of export promotion programs that may be used by policymakers in the field.
