Analyzing the Competitive Advantage in Honey Production in Iran
Recognizing the potential of a country's exports is important for exporting. So the identification of goods comparative advantages in the country is necessary and can cause to access competitive advantage of products in the global level.
In this article, index of competitive advantage in the export of natural honey in the country for 2009-2013 are calculated. For this purpose, the index of Unit Cost (UC) and constant market share (CMS) are computed. Iran has competitive advantage in production of natural honey based on Unit Cost index and also, based on constant market share index, competitive performance of Iran's natural honey is negative in target markets. Thus, the competitive advantage of Iran's natural honey production does not have a clear and stable trend.
